Please read the following information about returning texts and course materials:
Original or a copies of itemized sales slips must accompany all returns.
Returned NEW textbooks and course materials are required to be unused and unmarked. A 25 percent deduction will be given on items that are highlighted, marked, cribbed, bent and worn. Water damaged or stained books are not returnable. Open shrink-wrapped packages must be complete. Workbooks with missing pages or are written in are not returnable. (Hint- use light erasable pencil or use a separate sheet)
Open software is not returnable. Defective course materials may be returned for a full refund or exchange.
There is a "window" of returnability on your textbook and course material purchase. Each term is different so contact us for specific deadlines. However, you are usually able to return textbooks in the following timeframe.
Fall and Spring: three weeks after the start of the term and an additional two weeks with a drop slip.
Summer:
Three Week Sessions: One Week after the start of class.
Six and Eight Week Sessions: Two Weeks after the start of class
Winter Term: One week after the start of class.
Special Programs such as Evening MBA/Extension/GIS classes:
Three Weeks after the start of class.
Return timeframe policy exceptions may be made that are related to but not necessarily covered by the following:
Illness, death in the family, complete withdrawal from the University of Iowa, military duty call-up. Contact the textbook manager for questions.
