Product Description
This 1962 film inspired Frank Miller's graphic novel 300, which led to the 2006 blockbuster movie of the same name. The squabbling kings of the Greek city-states are unable to mount a united front against the greatest army ever assembled in the ancient world, led by Persian King Xerxes. Only King Leonidas (Richard Egan) of Sparta will stand up to Xerxes. Unable to mobilize an army during a holy festival, he leads his personal bodyguard of 300 warriors to meet the Persian advance at the narrow mountain pass of Thermopylae. Ralph Richardson costars as a wily Athenian politician.
